A group of young African professionals in Canada are spearheading a nationwide campaign to provide winter accessories to people in need.
‘Paired for a Cause‘ is an initiative organized by Femi Odutola, a Nigerian native residing in Calgary, Alberta.
It hopes to involve leaders in various local communities across Canada to bring attention to the challenges faced by not-for-profit organizations in providing humanitarian services to groups vulnerable to harsh winter conditions in Canada.
According to Femi, “Paired for a Cause inspires every donor to connect with a total stranger by making the commitment to enrich lives through a generous donation.”
“Our goal is to bring a life-changing message of empathy, and compassion to all of our host communities thereby making the world a better place – one connection at a time,” he added.
By partnering with local communities, as well as non-for-profit organizations, the campaign aims to bring attention to the challenges faced by these organizations in providing humanitarian services to people exposed to harsh winter conditions.
Contributions include old or new pairs of shoes (for all sizes and genders), winter jackets, winter gloves, socks, winter earmuffs, and other winter accessories.
The campaign begins this week and will run till Dec. 31.
Social media engagement is encouraged and will be followed using #Pairedforacause
